Dear friends, When I was moaning about the heat in Jaen, I didn't know how hot it was, and I didn't mention it again. Turns out it was 33 degrees. That's 91 degrees in real money. No wonder I felt a bit hot. ___ A wayfarer in Spain
Being down South it is lovely and sunny in London today, but not 33 degrees (more like 13). Allen and I belatedly posted a comment yesterday but it has not appeared. Why is this? Have never engaged in the blogging lark before so don't know if this will work either. Anyway we are extremely impressed with adventure and blogs and look forward to seeing you in June (which won't mean anything if earlier message dosn't make it) Fx
As it is so hot maybe you can copy that guy who walked from lands End to John o Groats last year without any clothes on. This will have several advantages. Firstly, it will keep you cool. Secondly, under your 'complete profile' instead of saying you "have no interests" (which might be viewed as a tad boring on any common or garden UCCA form) you can claim a keen interest in naked long distant spanish walking. This is bound to get the attention of any future prospective employer. In fact I can see the vice chancellorship beckoning already. Thirdly, this blog thing will become far more entertaining when you get arrested for indecent exposure or the spanish equivalent.(see Andy's earlier comments re lack of excitement etc.
It did appear. It's under 'Santiago-Puebla de Don Fadrique. Too many biting insects to walk naked. Anyway, I've only two and a half days left. It's hardly worth it now.
Haven't been able to read your account for several days but am now on holiday for a week and greatly surprised to find that you have nearly finished your journey. Well done. What are your plans when you finish? Are you going back to Sheffield straight away or do you intend to stay in Spain until the date you were originally due to come back? Jay
Dave has now crossed the border between Andalucia and Murcia and is in sight (not literally) of the finishing line. However it's looking like he can't access whatever it is he needs to access to send his blog (I'm a bit vague about the technology) so he may be out of touch for a bit. At the moment he's in a 4 house village where the bar is closed on Mondays so he's reduced to dining on a sandwich which he had the foresight to carry with him. It doesn't sound like he's in for a very exciting evening.
A walking trip along the GR-7 path from utiel-requena to fredes. I've skipped the section from bocairent to el rebollar owing to the lack of accommodation in route.

It was 10 degrees here in Sheffield today. Not sure what thet is in real money, but it felt bloody cold.
Wear your thermals when you get back.

au contraire, I've had a nice evening drinking local wine from a plastic bottle with the German couple.
