Caravaca-supplemental

Dear friends,
I had a memory that there were many steps up to a cross in Caravaca, and I
thought I would climb these steps as a final flourish. But I was wrong.
I've waited till four o'clock for the castle/church to open, to find a
church with a revolting baroque facade. I remember it now. The steps must
have been somewhere else. It's a little trick that Providence has played on
me.

Well done Dave. As Maggie said, your blog seems to keep appearing and disappearing - must be all the people sending comments!

Hi David,
greetings from the German couple you met in Canada de la cruz. We are writing now from Xativa in Valencia-province. In fact you did the hardest job in Andalucia... The waymarks got much better in Murcia and even in Alicante. We did not have any trouble in finding the path during two weeks since Canada. Only yesterday - the last section in Valencia- it was once more harder to find the path. Culturally the drastic change is remarkable as well - no longer the peasants society... Moreover the profile of the terrain has changed a lot. The average altitude differences per day are larger - the trail is steeper... As well it gets much lonelier. The next 5 (!) days we will stay in tent - due to not being able to find ANY accomodation. (although Margit has as well finished with staying outsides :-)) So you did the right section with Andalucia by walking your B&B-way as well.
Would be nice to hear from you again - and hope you find this late comment to your blog !!
All the best and hope you could readapt to working quickly...
Greeting from Spain
Margit and Juergen
